Introducing Our Sweet Little Nugget of Cuteness

by Sarah and Joe

It is with great joy that we introduce to you our sweet, beautiful baby Luke- heaven's newest angel.  Luke's birthday was a day of miracles, peace, answered prayers, sadness and joy....and we look forward to sharing the amazing details with you in future posts.  Needless to say, we are both absolutely head over heels in love with our precious son. We were gifted with the sound of his sweet, tender cries when he was born and cherished every second of the little over two hours that he was with us.  We cherished getting to capture his brief life in photos, some video clips, audio clips, handprints, footprints, molds, haircuts and of course in our hearts and minds.  It truly was a day of answered prayers and miracles and we are working on putting our experience and overwhelmed hearts into words.

So until then, we will simply let these photos do all of our talking for us...

  22. Some of the greatest sadness in life reminds us all of the things we have and may not recognize and/or appreciate on a daily basis. Sarah, you are an extremely strong person and your pureness of heart shows in your work as well as this most trying time in your life. Luke means "ray of light", and that is what he was for you and your husband, which has extended to all of us who know you and beyond. I don't talk to God much, but I have said a prayer for both of you. Sarah, I am proud to know you and to call you my friend. If there is anything that you and Joe need, don't hesitate to ask.

  26. P.S.
I meant to mention that his adorable, sweet swirl of hair on the back of his precious little head made me immediately think of a cirrus cloud. There are no coincidences, God's touch.

  27. Sarah and Joe,
I have looked at this photos several times today...each time planning on leaving a comment about their beauty, inspiration, and peace. Each time, words fail me (which Sarah will find shocking, I'm sure). I love his little hair swirl, and as someone else said, it reminds me of cirrus clouds. He is and always will be precious.
    Love and Prayers,

  36. Dear Joe....I am speachless, at loss for words. I can only imagine how tender your heart is after all this experience. I would love to see you soon, meet your wife, and give you a GIGANTIC hug! I read the entire post off Anita's facebook, and I wept. While reading your wifes letter to your son, I was celebrating in my mind and my heart what it will be like for you when you guys meet your son in heaven someday, when you embrace his perfected body for the first time, and he embraces both of you too. I do hope I am there to see it...With all the love I have, Chris DeGhelder. P.S. The rest of the children you guys have will have in fact hit the PARENT LOTTERY when they get both Sara and Joe for a Mom and Dad!!!!!!!!
