5:30am...our little Houdini arises....showing off how she has managed to somewhat free herself from the "inescapable" Miracle Blanket...
...first thing after being unswaddled is always a BIG stretch...
8am-ish...diaper change and getting ready for church with dad...
...there is always lots of kicking and "dancing" on the changing table...
...dad helping to re-stock the diaper drawer while the "dancing" is taking place...
8:30am-ish...my two favorites waiting for me to finish getting ready for church...
8:50am...step outside and see clouds! A sight not seen in the skies over our house for weeks!
9:30am- church...our pal Courtlan was teaching....
a glimpse of Lily during church...
beautiful raindrops...
Noon: We took Lily to see the Monet Water Lily exhibit at the Nelson Art Museum...
Ready to see some art!
A covert glimpse of the exhibit...(photos were prohibited)
My loves...
This one is my FAVORITE shot of the day....
12:45pm...we raced home from the museum so that we could put Lily down for her nap
An image of Luke that hangs from my rear view mirror....
1:45pm- With her belly full, Lily was down for a nap. (Her room has this amazing pink glow thanks to the curtains and the sunshine outside.)
2pm: We got carry out from First Watch. I enjoyed a turkey and avacado club. We also...
did laundry...
worked on Lily's sleep log...
roasted coffee...
and wrote thank you notes....
4pm: In a surprise turn of events for the day, our friend Lauren came over to talk houses with us. She is a realtor and was full of helpful ideas for us and what we need to do to get our place ready to sell. Lily loves her!
Lily hung out in her gym while we talked houses...she was very focused on her favorite dangly butterfly...even grabbing it and kicking it a couple of times!
5pm: Lauren ever so kindly took us to see two different houses we have had our eyes on...it was fun to dream about where we will be living and the home's potential... (I think we were officially kicked out of the home buying gate by this one!)
6:15pm: Our home shopping spree wrapped up with some ice cold beverages from this place. Since it was rapidly approaching her bedtime and Lily was really done with being in her carseat, she was doing a lot of screaming....hence, the photo documentation dwindles from here...
*Imagine photos of Lily swaddled and sleepy. She went to bed at 7:20pm. A photo of our dinner consisting of left over homemade stuffed shells. A photo of dishes being quietly stacked in the sink so as not to wake a very sleepy Lily...
9:15pm: Catching up on emails, facebook, and talking about houses for the next couple of hours. We reviewed our budget, crunched a lot of numbers, came up with questions we needed to ask lenders, Lauren, appraisers...all about that one house that 24 hours ago was not even on our radar! Lots of important conversations about our family, our dreams and our future.
11:30pm: *Imagine a photo of a big fluffy bed and two people tucked in tight sleeping away!
The day in numbers:

Observations for the day:
It is very difficult to capture every day life moments as they happen when you are learning to use your camera!
Lily brings joy to many people when they see her- friends and strangers alike!
Looking at houses and dreaming about future homes for our family is so.much.fun!
An extraordinary day as a family
Gratitude for the day:
Taking Lily to see the Monet exhibit- doing that as a family
Lauren taking the time to come over and help us with our home dreams
Connecting with a reader of our blog who lives out of state and getting to introduce her to Lily
Raindrops/clouds
A cool Starbucks treat after a long day
Dreaming of our family's future together
My shot of the day:
Sarah - I LOVE this project! Lily's big stretch after sleeping is the sweetest thing. I'm so excited for your house hunt. Hope we get to hear more about it on the blog. What an exciting time for your precious family!
ReplyDeleteWow, this is a very cool idea! I love it! I guess it's amazing what you miss when you aren't taking pictures...if I can gather the motivation, I might have to do this myself. Great job!!
