We Interrupt this Series to Let You Know that...

I'm five months old today!

Hello Everyone!
Sorry to interrupt my mom's new 31 Day series she is doing, but I wanted to check in with you and let you know how I've been doing.  I'm officially five months old today and I'm loving every minute of it!  I can now roll over in every direction and can even set my sights on something and eventually roll my way over to it!

I am "talking" up a storm and really like kicking my legs.  I enjoy exploring my world and am reaching out to touch, feel and grab all things I can get my hands on.  I love being outside and I like to hold other babies' hands when I first meet them.  Mom says that melts her heart.

I am sleeping much more regularly these days which my mom is really excited about!  I take a good morning nap, a good afternoon nap and occasionally even a second afternoon nap!  I can even put myself to sleep now without too many tears! We have been working on dropping one of my nighttime feedings, so now I only eat once during a twelve hour stretch at night! (Well, most nights!)  Last night I slept for eleven straight hours!  It scared my mom to death!

My bedtime is usually anywhere between 5:30pm and 7pm, and I wake up anywhere between 5 and 6:30am.  Depending on the night I've had, mom and dad will usually come into my room and put some fun, soft books in there for me to read and play with while they snooze for a little bit longer.

My biggest sleeping news is that I no longer need to be swaddled to sleep!  I became very skilled at escaping from the Miracle Blanket, so now I sleep in a sleep sack and I roll onto my tummy and am sleeping better than ever!

I LOVE to watch television.  My mom and dad try VERY hard to prevent me from seeing anything on TV, but I'm really good at rolling, twisting, turning, and even contorting myself so I can try and see some of what is on the news or Ellen.  Its kind of a bummer though because as soon as they see me watching, they quickly turn it off or move me back to where I can no longer watch with them.  They keep telling me that someday I will be able to watch my own shows on there, but not yet. *sigh*

I love lights and ceiling fans!

I enjoy reading books and have recently discovered the fun of a rubber ducky in my bathtub.  I'm doing very well with my timing and mom thinks I'm doing really well at almost being on a "schedule."

Mom says I tend to be shy when I'm around new people or in a new place, but once I settle in, I do great.  I'm very observant of what is going on around me.  It's so much fun being five months old!

xo,
Lily
